It’s time to find the right Chinese web hosting service for your business. Hosting is never something to overlook when thinking about creating a website.
Hosting could mean either life or death for your business. I recently wrote about Australian hosting services. This article though, will benefit those who reside in China or nearby countries.
SiteGround is a worldwide web host with 5 data center locations. This hosting company is extremely popular in China. SiteGround has thousands of Chinese clients and their office was featured in a mainstream Chinese magazine.
What makes SiteGround so great is their web hosting performance. Whether you choose StartUp, GoGeek, or Grow Big you are in good hands. In a day and age when competition is heavy, uptime and speed is a must.
SiteGround is the official recommended shared hosting company of WordPress.org, the largest website builder in the world. If you desire a cheap website hosting provider with cPanel, then SiteGround should be your first choice.

Bluehost is a popular web hosting company that is used by many well-known bloggers. BH offers Hong Kong Data Centers for their Chinese customers.
Their Plan A plan offers a single domain name, 10 GB of space, 50 GB traffic, and more for ¥ 15.00 / month which is equal to $2.28. Their Plan B offers unlimited domains, Infinite space, Infinite flow, unlimited mail accounts and more for ¥ 21.00 a month which is equal to $3.19 a month.
Plan C offers an infinite amount web space. What separates Plan C from the previous plans mentioned is that you will be able to send an independent IP. This is not possible with Plan A and B. Also, you will be given Enterprise – class high – performance technology.
Here are some features that you can look forward to.
- Dual E5530 2.40GHz Xeon quad-core Hyper-Threading Processor.
- IP Blocking
- 1 TB RAID 1 (mirrored) client data cache drive.
- 250GB RAID 1 (mirrored) OS driver.
- Redundant power supplies, high voltage AC and fire monitoring systems.
- SSL encryption.
- Powerful cPanel control panel.
A2 Hosting powers many Chinese websites today. What I love about A2 Hosting is that you can do a hosting speed test to find download speeds for each data center. This is a feature that most companies lack in, but A2 Hosting is in the business of helping potential customers.
With A2 you are given Turbo which makes your servers 20X faster than standard hosting servers. With A2 there will be less CPU and memory usage, enhanced stability, significant performance upgrades, and more. With the coupon code flash51 you will receive an enormous discount on your package of choice.
Their Shared hosting plan starts at $3.92 a month. They even have unlimited bandwidth VPS for cheap. However, I only recommend this for those who are technical. For those who desire a team their shared hosting is the best way to go. Whether you are in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, or Hong Kong, A2 might be the way to go.
4. Check out SinoHosting
SinoHosting hosts close to 9000 web and email hosting accounts. What’s interesting about SinoHosting is that they are located in mainland China, but they offer English support which shows versatility.
SinoHosting offers many features such as their customers are given 1 free domain name for life, multiple data center locations, remote backups, proactive uptime monitoring, free server migration, and more.
There are two drawbacks to using SinoHosting. One of the drawbacks is that they only have a 10-day return policy. I don’t believe 10 days is a sufficient amount of time to thoroughly review if a hosting company is the right choice.
Most companies offer at least a 30-day money back guarantee, which is what I recommend to those looking for a hosting service. Another drawback is the price. Their cheapest plan is RMB750/yr | US$110/yr.
This is too much especially considering that you are only given 2GB of disk space and 10GB monthly bandwidth. Their Business plan is going to cost you RMB1,500/yr | US$220/yr. With this plan, you will be given 10GB of disk space and 100GB monthly bandwidth which is a major upgrade.
Their largest and most expensive plan is their Corporate plan which costs RMB3,000/yr | US$440/yr. This plan gives you 50GB of disk space and 500GB monthly bandwidth.
Hong Kong was Hawk Host’s 6th datacenter location. Setting up with Hawk Host is easy. Click on the hosting tab, then choose either their Primary or Professional plan. Then, you are going to register a new domain.
On the next page under configurable options you will see the hosting location box. This is where you will select the Hong Kong location as your desired datacenter.
You also have the option of choosing Dallas TX, Washington DC, Los Angeles CA, Amsterdam, Singapore, or Toronto. Hawk Host is truly a phenomenal host. Best of all, HH is not going to be costly on your pockets like many other hosting services.
6. Check out Alibaba Cloud
Alibaba Cloud started in 2009 and it is the largest cloud computing company in China. What’s awesome about AC is that they offer data centers across six regions within mainland China.
Alibaba Cloud has many things to offer their customers such as a server load balancer, Anti-DDoS, web application firewall, auto scaling, HybridDB for PostgreSQL, and more. Alibaba Cloud is cheaper if you choose worldwide hosting.
Worldwide is good for those in Singapore, Sydney, Frankfurt, Virginia, Silicon Valley, etc. This package costs $4.50 a month. Their Hong Kong hosting costs $9/mo and it comes with 1 Core CPU, 1GB Memory, 40GB SSD Cloud Disk, and 1TB Data Transfer.
Their Mainland China hosting is good for those in Beijing, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Qingdao, and Zhangjiakou. This plan starts at $19/mo. Once again, Alibaba Cloud is a great option but if you are new to web hosting, then you might be better off going with the shared hosting companies above.
7. Check out ChinaHoster
The last hosting company on this list is ChinaHoster. They have invested over HKD1 Million to develop their infrastructure. They have made it their goal to specialize in Chinese Hosting.
Their #Small plan gives their customers 3GB Disk Space, 15GB Bandwidth, and 1 Domain Name for $120/yr. Their #Medium plan gives their customers 6GB Disk Space, 30GB Bandwidth, and 1 Domain Name for $150/yr.
Their #Large Plan gives you 12GB Disk Space and 60GB Bandwidth for $180/yr. The issue that I have with ChinaHoster is the same issue that I have with many Chinese-based hosting services. They are too expensive and they only give you a small amount of website space and bandwidth.
Here are some features that you can look forward to.
- China Registered IP Address
- China Dedicated Bandwidth
- Multiple DNS locations
- China optimized network
- Shenzhen cloud backup servers
- 1 Domain Name
- Weebly Site Builder
My top recommendation – My recommendation is based on customer satisfaction in China, speed, uptime, features, and price.
